The purpose of the USAR Driver Operator Task Book is to ensure that all members of the CCFD are able to competently operate the USAR. It is the expectation of the Department that all members will complete this task book within the first three years of their career. This task book serves as a guide covering the basic information necessary to this process. The employee’s supervising Captain and fellow Firefighters will serve as the best resources for learning the skills, tools, and operations of the USAR. Upon completion of the task book, the supervising Captain will write an attestation to the level of competency of the employee. The completed task book, along with the attestation and scored evaluation sheets, shall be sent to the employee’s Battalion Chief, as well as to the Probationary Committee.
